Regression using neural networks?

User 2001 | 5/28/2015, 2:31:15 PM

Greetings all,

I notice that Graphlab includes the functionality to perform classification using a neural network, but what about regression using the same? Are neural networks in graphlab limited to performing classification and no other function? Is it possible to train a neural network and make predictions without going via graphlab.neuralnet_classifier?

Hi @Joeetaku ,

Currently, GraphLab Create does not support regression using neural networks.

However, we are always open to feature requests. What is your particular use case?

Cheers! -Piotr

Hi Piotr,

For business reasons I'm afraid I can't disclose what I actually wish to use regression for, but in general I feel it would be useful to perform regression using neural nets, and even more generally to not be restricted to training neural networks as classifiers only. Neural networks are capable of so much more!

Kind regards,

Joe
